Haldimand Physiotherapy Centre was selected as Haldimand County’s Community Physiotherapy Program Centre. This means that OHIP will cover your Physiotherapy treatment at our facility if you have a Doctor’s prescription and meet one of the following criteria:
- Aged 65 years and older;
- Aged 19 years and younger; OR
- Recently discharged as in inpatient of a hospital and in need of a physiotherapy clinic services that are directly connected to the condition, illness or injury for which the person was admitted to the hospital (any age); OR
- Be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner based on the findings of an assessment that the person requires physiotherapy services and be eligivle for funding of services under the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) or Ontario Works (OW) program
Goals for OHIP funded treatment are dictated by the government and may be different than your goals for recovery. Treatment sessions are education and exercise based. The goal is to get you into an independent home exercise program and/or integrated into a community exercise program such as Haldimand County’s “Sit to be Fit” free program.

On your first OHIP Physiotherapy visit please bring with you: your script from your family doctor or surgeon, your Ontario Health Card, and a list of your current medications.
