Our Massage Therapists
Our Registered Massage Therapists provide a professional, therapeutic and relaxing experience including optional music and bed warmers to enhance your experience.
What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is a hands-on, soft tissue therapeutic treatment used to reduce pain, muscle tension and inflammation while providing relaxation and restorative function.
What training does a Registered Massage Therapist have?
Training to become a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario consists of a two to three year diploma programme from one of a number of recognized Massage Therapy schools in the province. After education is completed, all candidates must take the College’s Certification Examinations and register to practise Massage Therapy in Ontario. Only registrants of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario are permitted to use the protected titles “Registered Massage Therapist” or “Massage Therapist” and use the letters “RMT” or “MT” with their names. Note – Both titles are equivalent and mean that the holder of the title is a Registrant of the College.
What services do your Registered Massage Therapist offer?
Our massage therapists have a variety of techniques to fit your needs, whether it be for a relaxing massage or invigorating deep tissue work. Different approaches include lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage, myofascial work, and hot stone massage.
What is a Hot Stone Massage?
Experience the warmth of a Hot Stone Massage. Heated smooth, basalt stones are placed on key points of the body. The Massage Therapist also holds the stones to massage certain areas of the body, incorporating traditional massage techniques. The heat is used to warm and relax the muscles and helps to melt away tension and stress. Full body relaxation is achieved by calming nerves, balancing both body and mind!
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist?
The massage therapists do not require a physician’s note. However, depending on your extended health plan you may require one. Look into your policy before booking to ensure you are covered with or without a note. OHIP does not cover Registered Massage Therapy.
How long will each assessment or treatment be?
We recommend an hour for your first appointment to ensure the massage therapist has enough time to assess and treat your concerns. Your therapist will then discuss with you the recommendations for further treatment and length of sessions. Appointments can be booked in 30 / 45 / 60 / 120 minute sessions.
