Mara graduated with her Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2020; she previously attended Laurentian University where she obtained her Bachelor of Health and Physical Education with a minor in Gerontology in 2018. Mara loves to work as a physiotherapist as it provides her with an opportunity to share her knowledge in health and wellness.
She likes to be able to get to know her patients as she coaches and creates individualized programs that help to assist them in returning to the important activities in their lives. Mara will work to target an active approach to rehabilitation. With a focus on function, integrated into her assessment and treatment, she can help assist her patients to improve their quality of life. Mara strives to help each client attain their specific goals and maximize their function.
Mara enjoys staying active and is always open to trying new activities. Her athletic background is in competitive gymnastics and had spent time coaching for 8 years while attending school. Gymnastics has a special place in Mara’s heart as it sparked her introduction to physiotherapy as an athlete who dealt with injuries during her time training. In her free time, you can find Mara hiking, exploring the outdoors, practicing yoga, running or with a hot cup of coffee.
